Dan Coulthurst was raised in a musical family and started learning the Trumpet aged 8. After initially perusing a keen interest classical music, Dan found his true passion in Jazz – particularly Big Band. During his time at Leeds College of Music (2015-2018), Dan had the opportunity to study and perform with a variety of musicians including Steve Fishwick, Ian Ballamy, Mark Chandler and Baptiste Herbin.

As well as being a member of a variety of Big Bands during his time in Leeds, Dan was also eager to develop his skills in small group improvisation and composition.
