Jasper is a London-based trombonist soon to attend the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. He attended the Royal College of Music Junior Department receiving lessons from Mornington Lockett, Amos Miller and Ruth Mollins. Throughout this time Jasper was also frequently involved with NYJO as a deputy.
Jasper has attended the Centrum Jazz course in Washington State USA, on Scholarship after winning the Carol Jarvis Young Trombonist Competition. Here he studied under many top international musicians such as Jiggs Whigham, Wycliffe Gordon, Gerald Clayton and Terrell Stafford.
Jasper attended the University of Kent as a music scholar studying Criminology. In addition to his academic studies he was principle and lead trombone in multiple ensembles frequently performing at Canterbury Cathedral.
Since graduating, Jasper has freelanced both performing and recording with groups such as Hip-Hop brass band, ‘Dat Brass’ who have recently returned from a tour of Europe, New Orleans group ‘Mama Brass’, Capital Orchestra, performing at Cadogan Hall and LSO St Luke’s. Jasper is also part of the House Band for the monthly Gospel session Vibe Village.
