Tom is a jazz saxophonist, flautist, clarinettist and composer currently in his third year of studying at the Royal Academy of Music. He runs a few of his own groups including a septet (which released an EP ‘Selections’ in 2015) and a trio, which both play his original music, and he’s also a member of a number of new up and coming jazz bands including the Billy Marrows Octet and Jonny Mansfield’s Elftet.
In both 2014 and 2016, Tom was featured on the BBC Young Musician of the Year Jazz Award, the performances of which were broadcast on Radio 3 and BBC 4. Other recent performance highlights include playing with Dave Holland and the NYJC group at the House of Commons, performing with the NYJO small band at the House of Lords, playing an Indian and Jazz fusion piece with NYJC and SAMYO at the Queen Elizabeth Hall and big band performances with Dave Liebman and Gareth Lockrane at the Royal Academy of Music.
