NYJX | Southbank Centre
November 21 @ 7:30 pm – 9:00 pm
NYJX at the Southbank Centre
The NYJO Jazz Exchange (NYJX) plays at the Clore Ballroom of the Southbank Centre – the largest arts centre in the UK and one of the nation’s top five visitor attractions.
The Jazz Exchange (JX) are a distinctive, new ensemble that brings together emerging talent from across the UK. Mentored by Orphy Robinson MBE, this unconventional collective of prodigious talent brings a unique body of original material, largely developed during – and influenced by – the nationwide lockdowns as a result of the ongoing pandemic. Expect an elaborate sonic patchwork consisting of strings, reeds, drums, and waves of modular synthesis.
Orphy Robinson MBE

“It is a privilege to be leading the NYJO Jazz Exchange. This exciting new project will provide progressive professional opportunities to those who don’t identify with traditional musical education routes. As a young player, I would have benefited enormously from this scheme. The jazz scene is constantly changing, and it’s important that NYJO does too.”Orphy Robinson MBE
