NYJO Sextet at Haywards Heath Music Society
The Haywards Heath Music Society was founded in 1941 by Gertrude Lampson with the objective “to promote … the presentation of public concerts and recitals”. For over 75 years the Society has brought the best of new professional musical talent, plus more established performers, from around the world to Mid Sussex. It provides the very best entertainment to a wide audience, with concerts of different musical genres – classical, choral and jazz.
These have displayed the talents of artists ranging from gifted amateurs, through aspiring young professionals to established names such as Peter Katin, Emma Johnson, Margaret Fingerhut, Steven Osborne, Evelyn Glennie, Freddie Kempff and John Amis. Groups including the Rasumovsky and Coull string quartets, the Haffner Wind Ensemble and The Fairer Sax have also appeared.
