NYJO at Newbury Spring Festival
May 18 @ 7:30 pm - 9:30 pm
The National Youth Jazz Orchestra returns to the Newbury Spring Festival for an evening of thrilling big-band jazz!
The programme will include arrangements of famous jazz standards and some music written by band members, as well as focussing on female composers, songwriters and lyricists – from jazz classics such as Feeling Good (made famous by Nina Simone) and That Old Devil Called Love (by Doris Fisher, made famous by Billie Holliday and Alison Moyet), to brand new commissions written especially for NYJO in 2018, including Nikki Iles’ Wild Oak and Laura Jurd’s No Man Is an Island.
Join us in celebrating the past, present and future of British Jazz!
