Roland (UK) Ltd, the British arm of a world leader in the design, manufacture and distribution of musical instruments, has generously agreed to sponsor the NYJO piano ‘chair’.
In addition, the company are providing NYJO with a Roland RD-700GX digital stage piano – a supreme touring keyboard – for use in their concert programmes.
David Barnard (right), Head of Education for Roland (UK), said: “Roland is proud to be associated with the NYJO ‘Chairs’ Appeal and, by sponsoring the Piano ‘Chair’ and providing a stage piano to meet their touring needs, is aiming to support NYJO in providing opportunities for young musicians, regardless of background, to play jazz to the highest possible standard”.
This high-profile addition to the NYJO ‘Chair’ Appeal’s roster of supporters is a significant boost for the campaign – launched in February – to raise £35,000 per year to ensure NYJO has sufficient funding to enable it to fulfil its comprehensive educational and young musician development remit.
