NYJO works with 100 young musicians from Surrey Arts

On Sunday 19 May NYJO worked with over 100 young musicians from throughout Surrey during a day of jazz activity at the G Live Centre in Guildford, in partnership with Surrey Arts. The day saw four jazz orchestra and vocal workshops take place and culminated in a swinging concert of epic proportions with NYJO performing alongside the students and setting what was possibly a world record for the largest performance of Herbie Hancock’s Chameleon ever heard (well, at least in Surrey)! The day continues NYJO’s mission to work with Music Hubs to inspire young jazz musicians throughout the whole of the country.

Some photos from the day can be seen on our Facebook page here.
