NYJO today announced it has been successful in an application for £150,000 from Arts Council England’s Catalyst: Evolve programme.
This major award will support NYJO’s fundraising ambitions for the next three years, through a combination of enhanced organisational capacity and a matched giving scheme. Achieved at a crucial point in NYJO’s development, this grant reaffirms the organisation’s position as the pre-eminent jazz educator in the UK.
Nigel Tully, Executive Chair of NYJO, said:
‘This grant is a milestone for NYJO and will help us to expand and develop the inspirational work we do with audiences and young musicians across the country; we know they love our visits, and we want to take the jazz message more often to more people in more parts of the UK. The grant will have a tremendous positive impact on jazz education and performance in this country, which is at last starting to give the jazz art-form the recognition that it deserves.’
