NYJO's Mark Armstrong & Nadim Teimoori play tribute to Stan Tracey

Stan Tracey, a titan of Jazz in Britain, passed away on December 6th 2013 following a battle with cancer. His Humanist Funeral on December 18th was attended by many of his fellow Jazz musicians, including old friends from his 70 year career as a professional musician, his long-time trumpet player and NYJO Music Director Mark Armstrong and rising star Tenor Saxophonist Nadim Teimoori.

Nadim had the great honour of performing Stan’s composition ‘Triple Celebration’ with Steve Melling and Andy Cleyndert in the chapel whilst Mark featured in a befittingly swinging Jam Session at the wake.

On behalf of all at NYJO, RIP Stan, and our thoughts are with the Tracey family.
