Maddie Dowdeswell – Trombone

Maddie comes from Stevenage and plays both the trombone, which she started when she was 8, and the piano, which she started at the age of 6. Her first trombone teacher was Alan Hutt.

In 2011 she was accepted into the Purcell School on a scholarship where she studied the trombone with Steve Waterman and jazz piano with Simon Colam.

In addition to her appearances with NYJO, Maddie has performed with The Purcell School Symphony Orchestra at the Southbank Centre’s Royal Festival Hall, The Sage, Gateshead and the Watford Coliseum.

The Trombone 3 Chair is supported by Bernard David.
