Already embarking on a professional career, Louis commenced his studies in 2012 at the Royal Academy of Music in London after being offered scholarships to Wells Cathedral School and the Purcell School.
He has studied with Wayne Bergeron, Mike Lovatt, Mark David, Nick Smart, Steve Waterman and has had masterclasses with Allen Vizzutti, Paul Archibald, Ian Bousfield and many more.
He played lead trumpet with NYJO between 2012 and 2014 and took part in the band’s BBC Proms Concert at the Royal Albert Hall in 2012. Louis is a member of the Syd Lawrence Orchestra and has worked with the BBC Big Band, the Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Orchestra and with many touring shows in the UK. He has guest-spotted with Big Bands in London and Los Angeles, playing covers and some original tunes written for him.
Louis’ more prestigious gigs include playing at Ronnie Scotts with Al Jarreau as part of the 30-year celebration of the Jarreau album, and performing at the infamous brass concert honouring British trumpet legend, Derek Watkins. His studio work includes recording at Angel Studios, Abbey Road and other studios in London where he recorded Tommy Laurence’s debut album, NYJO’s album “The Change”, rap artist “Wretch 32” and many more library sessions.
Louis hopes to record a solo album in the near future.
