American-born Kerin, who had majored in French horn as a high-school student at the Interlochen Arts Academy in Michigan, occupied NYJO’s French horn chair from 1999 to 2002 while studying at the Royal Academy of Music in London.
After graduating she also studied and trained as an Alexander Technique teacher at Hampstead Alexander Centre in London, where she qualified in 2002.
She moved to Germany, becoming a full-time French horn player working mainly in her adopted home country and South Africa, before taking up teaching the Alexander Technique professionally.
Since 2011 Kerin has been Assistant Teacher Trainer at the renowned Alexander Technique Academy in Zurich and has taught in England, South Africa, the USA, Japan, and Switzerland, specialising in offering Alexander Technique workshops to horn, trumpet, and low brass students.
Kerin is a Member of the German Society for the Alexander Technique (ATVD) and still freelances on French horn alongside her busy private practice.
