As a charity that prides itself on providing support to communities throughout the UK, we are assessing the current situation with the utmost caution.
During this period of uncertainty, our number one priority remains the welfare of all our students. We are closely following the GOV.UK guidelines, and would advise our friends to check the regularly updated pages dedicated to ‘stay at home’ and NHS guidance.
Being mindful of the safety and wellbeing of our communities, we have made the difficult decision to close the NYJO Academy in London for the remainder of the Spring Term. In line with the government’s latest advice, this will include the upcoming gigs at Poplar Union, the Vortex and Foyles. We hope to be back to start the summer term on 25th April and will keep you all up to date whenever we have news to report.
Given these changes to the schedule, we will offer a deduction on next term’s fees, with more details due to be released nearer the time. Payment of the Summer Term fees will not be requested until we have a better understanding of the options available to us.
As previously stated, we are ready to work within any new population distancing policies, such as school closures, and within our own organisation we are working from home, in order to slow the spread of the disease. We will be prepared to act if new measures are confirmed and in the meantime send our love and best wishes out to our NYJO Academy students and families.
We are actively exploring new ways to stay connected with the NYJO family and are looking at exciting options to keep the jazz spirit alive through our online communities. Keep your eyes peeled for exclusive online activities, specifically built to ensure you’re still learning from the comfort of your own home.
We’d love to hear from anyone about their new practice schedules and welcome all ideas for ways to stay in touch and in tune, so drop us an email, or tag us on you preferred social channel, and let’s keep the conversation going!
Please note: NYJO have not had any confirmed cases of Covid-19, but are taking the precautions to keep all our families and staff safe. If you are displaying any symptoms, please notify NYJO immediately through firstname.lastname@example.org or by leaving a voicemail on 0207 494 1733.
Look after yourselves!
