Tim Garland was brought up in Canterbury and studied Composition and Saxophone at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama, London. He is now in demand for his work as a composer, arranger and saxophone player, and is one of the few UK jazz musicians to have forged a presence in the USA.
He is currently Research Fellow in New Music at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester.
Mark Armstrong is Jazz Professor at the Royal College of Music in London and works as a moderator, trainer and examiner for the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music. He was re-appointed as the Artistic and Music Director for NYJO in 2012
