Matthew was born aged 0 in York and began playing the trombone aged 11. After a few years learning through the local music service he became lead trombone in the County Big Band aged 16 and was already working with various local bands.
Currently Music Director of the NYJO Nonet, Tom is a saxophone and woodwind player who has composed and arranged many charts for NYJO.
Henry Armburg Jennings started playing trumpet (and piano) at the age of 5 and now he is already one of the hottest talents to emerge on the British jazz scene.
Rob started playing the trumpet when he was 10 years old and joined the local Nottingham music services, where he started private lessons.
Lauren is a prolific song writer, vocalist, pianist and percussionist and held the vocal and percussion chair with NYJO from 2003 to 2005.
Sarah Ellen sang with NYJO 2001-2008 (principal vocalist from 2005-2008).
Jon began playing the trombone at the age of 11 and became fascinated by big bands.
