Stage 1: Application and Examples of Writing
Please provide two examples of your writing (arrangements and/or original compositions) as PDFs or Sibelius files, and links to audio/video performances if they exist. Shortlisted candidates’ work will be reviewed by a panel.
- Complete the NYJO 2020 Application Form
- Complete the Equal Opportunities Monitoring Form
- Email your two forms (saved as Word or PDF files only), two examples of your writing (saved as pdf or silbelius files), and links to any audio/video performances of your work if they exist to Orchestra Manager Roger Wilson at: roger@nyjo.org.uk by 10am Monday 21 October
Stage 2: Interview
Final-stage candidates will be invited to an interview with Mark Armstrong and Roger Wilson at a mutually convenient date to discuss their work, their experience and aspirations.
The successful composer will be offered a one-year tenure in the orchestra with a bursary of £1125 plus £100 per new delivered chart. In return for the bursary they will be expected to contribute to copying and re-orchestration work to help maintain the NYJO library.
