Mark Perry

Mark Perry is a 22 year old London based Trumpet player whom has recently graduated from Trinity College of Music. He has studied under the tuition of Pete Saberton, Steve Waterman, Paul Eshelby, Chris Batchelor, Barak Schmool, Nicolas Payton, Alex Sipiagin Mike Lovatt and Simon Purcell.
Whilst at Trinity Mark won the "Gladys Puttick Competition" for free improvisation and more recently the "2009 Yamaha Classic/FM Jazzwise Scholarship Award".
Other groups Mark plays with include The Duncan Eagles Quintet, Lucas Dodd Quintet, Josh Ison Group, TWJO (Tomorrow’s Warrior Jazz Orchestra) And the Binker Golding Quintet, performing at Jazz venues such as Charlie Wrights, Olivers, Ronnie Scotts, Queen Elizabeth Hall, The Globe, upstairs@Ronnies Scotts etc.
Mark leads his own band the Mark Perry Quintet which features James Maddren, Tom Farmer Sam Leak and Josh Ison. The band have played In jazz clubs round the UK such as the 606, Olivers, The Others, Windies Cove, Con Cellar, Jazz@Johns, the Globe, North London Tavern etc.
More recently with his quintet Mark recorded an original composition “Meteors†at Yamahas Studios and had the track played on JazzFM. The Track is on the Yamaha New Jazz Sessions 2009 CD (also Including tracks from Kit Downs And Nigel Hitchcock) Which was attached to the front cover of the 2009 December issue of JazzWise magazines which also included an article on Mark inside the magazine.
