Alan Plater CBE, the prolific dramatist and screenwriter, who was an Honorary Vice-President of NYJO and had been a Board Member for many years, passed away last Friday. James Larter

James started playing percussion at the age of 11 at the Royal College Junior Department and has played with county ensembles such as the Northamptonshire Youth Concert Band and Zingaresque: a world music group. He also plays for National Youth Wind Ensemble and is a reserve for the National Youth Orchestra. He took part in the LSO St. Lukes Academy 2009 and was in the percussion final of BBC Young Musician of the Year 2010. He also plays drum kit, violin and piano and is currently studying for his GCSE’s.
